The Contract Management Specialist plays a crucial role in managing and overseeing the creation, negotiation, and execution of contracts between the company and external parties. The role involves managing the lifecycle of contracts, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating terms and conditions; and will be responsible for managing the end-to-end contract process. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of contract laws and experience working with public and private sector vendors, suppliers, or clients to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to CEO TransPeshawar, the Contract Management Specialist is responsible for coordinating all activities associated with the contract administration within the department. Responsibilities include negotiating, writing, monitoring and evaluating contracts including ensuring compliance with federal and provincial laws and regulations.

 

Key Tasks
  • Draft and Review Contracts: Prepare and review a wide range of contracts including, but not limited to, service agreements, consultancy and non-consultancy agreements, civil works and maintenance contracts, and vendor contracts.
  • Negotiation: Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to negotiate terms and conditions that minimize risks and maximize business objectives.
  • Legal Compliance: Ensure that all contracts comply with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies. Stay up-to-date with changes in regulations and industry standards.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks in contract terms and develop risk registry. Advise stakeholders on how to mitigate the risks and work closely with legal team to address risks for pre and post contract creation.
  • Contract Lifecycle Management: Oversee the entire contract lifecycle, including drafting, negotiation, execution, and amendments. Maintain an organized record of all contracts and related documentation.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with departments such as procurement, finance, operations and legal to ensure alignment with overall business objectives.
  • Dispute Resolution: Address and resolve any contract-related disputes, working to protect the interests of the organization while maintaining positive relationships with partners and vendors.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive reports on contract status, obligations, and risks. Ensure that all contract documents are properly stored and easily accessible.
  • Training: Provide support and training to internal teams regarding contract terms, best practices, and contract compliance.
  • Perform other such duties that may be assigned from time to time by the CEO.
Position Requirements
  1. ATTAINMENTS

Qualification

Minimum

16 years of education in Engineering, Business Studies, Economics, Law or a related field from a recognized university.

Preferable

Master degree in Engineering, Business Studies, Economics, Law or a related field from a recognized university. Foreign qualification will be considered an added advantage.

Specialized Training – Contract Management, Contract Administration, Procurement or any other training preferably from FIDIC or PEC considered relevant for the position.

 

EXPERIENCE

At least 08 years of post-qualification relevant experience in contract lifecycle management, handling legal agreements, service contracts, or vendor agreements, contractual compliance, and legal, financial, and operational matters of contracts. Experience in contracts management with Financial Institutions or Banks shall be considered an advantage. Relevant International work experience will be considered an added advantage.

  • Strong skills in drafting, reviewing, and modifying contracts to ensure clarity, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Ability to negotiate terms and conditions with vendors, clients, or partners while balancing company interests and risk management.
  • Skilled in resolving disagreements and disputes in contract terms or performance in a fair and effective manner.
  • Understanding of applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards that govern contracts, including compliance with legal requirements.
  • Ability to identify and assess potential legal, financial, or operational risks within contracts and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Strong attention to detail when reviewing contracts, identifying discrepancies, errors, or areas of concern. Ability to analyse complex contracts and provide recommendations based on risk assessment and business needs.
  • Ability to manage multiple contracts simultaneously, ensuring that deadlines, approvals, and compliance requirements are met.
  • Ability to work closely with different departments such as legal, procurement, finance, and operations to ensure alignment on contract terms.

 

  1. CIRCUMSTANCES
  • Excellent verbal and written skills in English and Urdu. Pashto will be considered an added advantage.
  • Good health, able to work long hours (when required).
  • Age shall not be more than 50 years
