The Assistant Manager BRT Control Centre (Bus Operation) shall be responsible for contract management, operations and invoice processing of Chamkani and Mall of Hayatabad (MoH) contracts. The role is expected to have 10% field visits and 90% work in office. AM BRT Control Centre (Bus Operation) will be responsible for smooth execution of the contracts. The major responsibilities include rate adjustment, kilometres verification, kilometre lengths verification, KPIs compliance of the contract, impose LDs due to noncompliance and recommend /implement improvement in the system. KPIs reports will be reviewed and finalised by the AM BRT Control Centre (Bus Operation) for invoice processing.

This role is also responsible for assisting the Manager in preparation of; maintenance and operation plans, procurement strategy, budget preparation, working papers and audit responses, and any other activity required by the management.

Key Responsibilities

The Assistant Manager BRT Control Centre (Bus Operation) will be responsible for operation and maintenance activities of Chamkani and MoH bus operations contracts. The prime responsibilities are:

  • Assist the Manager in activities related to bus operation contracts to ensure the contract compliance and quality of service;
  • Assist the Manager in preparation of operations and maintenance plan strategy;
  • Assist the Manager in budget preparation related to contract and any other maintenance activities related to bus operation contract including forecasting cost;
  • Lead and execute bus operation contract assigned by the Company;
  • Verify and process payments in accordance with the contract, SOP, and in accordance with applicable law;
  • Adjustment of kilometre rate for contract payments as and when required;
  • Prepare and execute periodic campaigns to check the functionality of equipment, services etc.
  • Suggest and recommend infrastructure improvements to planning department;
  • Suggest and provide feedback on route adjustments and stop addition /deletion;
  • Ensure the smooth and efficient operations of the control centre and supervision of control centre staff;
  • Prepare and execute periodic campaigns to check the functionality of Electrical and Mechanical equipment, services etc.
  • Ensure contract compliance and respond to audit /finance queries and ensure compliance of applicable laws;
  • Participate in procurement activities, handing & taking-overs and planning of facility management works /services and cost estimation of future maintenance and operation activity;
  • Reporting on the adequacy of the maintenance procedure to ensure that it continues to meet the current and future demands of the ZU System;
  • Record keeping of the data relevant to the contract;
  • Prepare reports for Manager as and when required;
  • Supervise and monitor activities of Compliance Officer Bus Operation and Operation Supervisors;
  • Management and training of lower staff to ensure tasks given to them are completed efficiently and in timely manner;
  • Maintaining regular liaison/contact with nominated key stakeholders including contracted service suppliers and with others as may be required on an intermittent or emergency basis;
  • To ensure effective communications with the Manager, Assistant Managers and control centre staff at all times;
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by TransPeshawar.
Position Requirements
  1. ATTAINMENTS

Qualification

Required

Bachelor degree in Civil /Transport /Computer Science /Electrical /Industrial Engineering or other qualifications of relevance from a recognized university.

Preferable

Master degree in Civil /Transport /Computer Science /Electrical /Industrial Engineering, Management or related relevant field from a recognized university.

Active affiliations – public /urban transport operations management, professional team building and management, emergency procedures training, or any other skills considered relevant for the position.

 

EXPERIENCE

At least 5 years of post-qualification relevant experience including minimum of 3 years of experience in transport planning and /or operations. Experience in similar role (bus scheduling /monitoring system) and in similar sector will be considered an advantage. Relevant international work experience will be considered an added advantage.

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver reports and agreed actions in a timely manner and within the budget,
  • Demonstrated ability to take responsibility in accordance with sound management principles and skills,
  • Credible, and comfortable in dealing with management, line agencies, general public and other stakeholders; and
  • Empathic communicator, able to work with a team and see things from the other person’s point of view.

 

  1. CIRCUMSTANCES
  • Maximum Age 35 years.
  • Fluency in English, Urdu and Pashto would be an added advantage.
  • Good health, allow to work long and irregular hours (when required).
