The Operation Supervisor will be responsible for assisting Assistant Manager BRT Control Centre (Bus Operation) in the daily monitoring of operation of 244 buses on 18 routes, which may increase from time to time. The role is expected to have 10% field visits and 90% work in the office. Along with daytime work, the site work also includes night duties. This position will also be responsible to verify trips /kilometres, verify bus operations adherence to agreed KPIs, record violations and monitor bus headways through GPS, AVL and CCTV cameras. This role also include monitoring of ZU Bicycles.

This role is also responsible for assisting the Assistant Manager in the timely collection of the information required by the Manager and Senior Management of the Company.

Key Responsibilities

The Operation Supervisor will assist Compliance Officer Bus Operations. Their prime responsibilities will include:

  • Assist Compliance Officer Bus Operations in compilation of travelled kilometres and verification of KPIs;
  • Conduct route wise congestion /delay analysis of buses and recommend way forward for improvements;
  • Collect operational violations of bus operation such as over speeding, dwell time adherence, breakdown, rash driving etc.;
  • Collect operational violations through field inspection such as knowledge of drivers, license verification, route terminal operations etc.;
  • Prepare /review bus schedules and recommend improvements to the schedule;
  • Conduct analysis of historical bus operations data related to service kilometres, dead kilometres, delays analysis, dwell time at busy stations, travel time analysis etc.;
  • To ensure bus operations in accordance with planned schedules, SOP /policies and other agreed parameters;
  • Visit routes during peak hours to practically observe that the scheduled headway is performing efficiently and recommend improvements in the schedules;
  • Analysis of ZU Bicycles data which include Bicycle Station utilization (by time of a day, usage by day of a week and usage by month of the year) and recommend the potential bicycle station which needs to be relocated based on demand and coverage area. Monitor conditions of ZU Bicycles and ZU Bicycle stations and recommend improvements to the bicycle, prepare annual ZU Bicycle ridership book etc.
  • Collecting information by monitoring and observing activities through ITS systems in control centre to detect irregular activities and keeping detailed log of the violations;
  • To ensure better quality of services, all ongoing activities (at buses and routes) comply with the conditions of the declared project assigned to the company;
  • To ensure effective communications with the Assistant Manager BRT Control Centre and control centre staff at all times;
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by TransPeshawar.
Position Requirements
  1. ATTAINMENTS

Qualification

Required

Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering, Transport Planning /Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or other qualifications of relevance from a recognized university

Preferable

Preference will be given to Masters Degree in Transport Planning /Engineering.

EXPERIENCE

Minimum 2 years of post-qualification experience or 1 year experience with Masters Degree. Experience in monitoring, reporting and supervision will be an added advantage.

  • Above average skills in consultative team communications and operational management.
  • Good in responding to emergency response and mitigation measures,
  • Competence in using monitoring/surveillance technology, related computer equipment and software.
  • Demonstrated ability to take responsibility in accordance with sound management principles and skills.
  • Credible, and comfortable in dealing with management, line agencies, general public and other stakeholders; and
  • Empathic communicator, able to work with a team and see things from the other person’s point of view.

  • Maximum Age 30 years.
  • Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Domicile
  • Fluency in English, Urdu and Pashto would be an added advantage.
  • Good health, allow to work long and irregular hours (when required).
