TransPeshawar Overview
To improve the conventional public transport system in Peshawar, GoKP in collaboration with Asian Development Bank initiated to transform Peshawar with BRT (Bus Rapid Transit) system, the project which aimed to fulfill the demands for a sustainable, convenient, economical, and reliable mode of public transportation The Zu Peshawar includes a network of thirteen routes on which 244 buses will operate as well include a network of Bicycle Sharing System. Main features of the Peshawar BRT System are as follows: –
- BRT Corridor Route Length – 27 Km (From Chamkani to Karkhano Market)
- Total No. of routes: 13 (05 Express Routes, 02 Stopping Routes, and 06 Direct / Feeder Routes)
- Total number of BRT Stations – 30
- Total Number of Depots: 02 (Hayatabad & Chamkani)
- Total Number of Buses (Diesel/ Hybrid Buses) – 244
18-meter Buses: 65 (Capacity: 125 (54 +71)
12-meter Buses: 179 (Seating Capacity:75 (32+43)
- Total Number of Zu Bicycle Sharing Stations: 32
- Total Number of Zu Bicycles: 360
- Zu Mobile App (for finding location of buses/Cycles and payment of fare/rent)
- Commercial Properties: 03 (Dabgari, Hayatabad, Chamkani)
