OVERALL ROLE:
Reporting to the Assistant Manager Bus Compliance; Bus Compliance Supervisor has to supervise and monitor bus operations to ensure compliance with BRT service standards, route schedules, vehicle safety protocols, and regulatory requirements. This role ensures that operators (third-party contractors) are delivering quality service and that buses remain roadworthy, safe, and efficient. This role is crucial to ensuring that all buses and operators adhere to service quality, safety, regulatory, and operational standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The position of Bus Compliance Supervisor has following primary responsibilities:
1. Operational Compliance Monitoring:
- Monitor day-to-day bus operations to ensure adherence to approved schedules, routes, and headways.
- Check that buses meet all regulatory and contractual requirements before and during service.
- Ensure proper operation of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS), including GPS, Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL), Automatic Fare Collection (AFC), and CCTV systems.
2. Contractor & Driver Supervision:
- Liaise with bus operating contractors to ensure driver availability, punctuality, and discipline.
- Monitor driver behavior and service delivery through field inspections and system-generated reports.
- Enforce uniform, grooming, and code of conduct standards for drivers and on-board staff.
3. Inspection & Audits:
- Conduct routine and surprise inspections at depots, bus stops, and on-board vehicles.
- Check vehicle cleanliness, signage, branding, air conditioning, safety equipment, and general condition.
- Identify non-compliance issues and document violations with photographic or written evidence.
4. Reporting & Documentation:
- Maintain detailed records of inspections, violations, and penalties issued.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly compliance performance reports.
- Escalate critical or repeated violations to senior management with recommendations.
5. Safety & Incident Response:
- Respond to field emergencies, breakdowns, or passenger complaints related to bus operations.
- Coordinate with control room, security, and emergency teams for timely resolution.
- Participate in accident investigations and ensure the implementation of corrective actions.
6. Performance Improvement:
- Suggest improvements in route operations, dispatching, and contractor performance.
- Provide feedback and coaching to drivers and on-board staff through the contractor.
- Support training and capacity-building initiatives for front-line transit staff.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- ATTAINMENTS
QUALIFICATION
At least B.Sc degree Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or Transport Planning and Engineering, or related fields from a recognized university.
Specialized Training – Bus Operations, public /urban transport, project management or any other skills considered relevant for the position.
Active affiliations – membership of recognised Industry or Professional Organisations.
EXPERIENCE
At least 02 years of post-qualification relevant experience. Experience in Bus Operations, Bus Iinspections, Bus Mechanism will be considered an advantage.

- Familiarity with bus technologies (ITS, AVL, AFC).
- Field supervision and compliance auditing experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Conflict resolution and contractor management.
- Attention to detail and process adherence.
- Proficiency in using compliance checklists and reporting software.
- CIRCUMSTANCES
- Fluency in English and Urdu. Pashto will be considered an added advantage.
- Good health, allow to work long and irregular hours (when required).
- Age up to 37 years on the closing date of applications.
