OVERALL ROLE:

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO); Assistant Manager Financial Services plays a critical role in managing the financial health of the organization. The role is responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, budgeting, financial reporting, regulatory compliance, audits, and supporting strategic financial planning. This position ensures that financial practices are in accordance with organizational goals and statutory requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The position of Assistant Manager Financial Services has following primary responsibilities:

1. Financial Accounting & Reporting

  • Prepare and maintain accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, profit & loss statements, and cash flow reports.
  • Supervise the general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and journal entries.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, vendor accounts, and intercompany transactions.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes.

2. Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and rolling forecasts.
  • Monitor actual vs. budget variances, analyze deviations, and report findings to management.
  • Coordinate with different departments to gather budgeting inputs and ensure budgetary discipline.

3. Compliance & Regulatory

  • Ensure timely and accurate filing of tax returns (GST, income tax, etc.).
  • Comply with all statutory requirements, including those related to financial reporting standards
  • Maintain compliance with Federal & Provincial Rules in consideration with internal financial policies and corporate governance norms.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation for audits and inspections by regulatory authorities.

4. Audit & Internal Controls

  • Liaise with internal and external auditors during audit cycles.
  • Ensure the implementation and monitoring of internal controls and compliance frameworks.
  • Review and improve accounting processes and control measures to mitigate financial risks.

5. Treasury & Cash Flow Management

  • Monitor and manage cash flow to meet operational needs and optimize fund utilization.
  • Support in fund forecasting, working capital management, and investment planning.
  • Maintain relationships with banks and financial institutions.

6. Financial Systems & ERP

  • Ensure accurate and timely data entry and reporting via ERP systems (Oracle, Quickbook, etc.).
  • Provide support in the implementation of new financial systems or software updates.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement.

7. Procurement & Payment Oversight

  • Review procurement proposals for financial viability.
  • Process and track vendor payments, staff reimbursements, and contract disbursements.
  • Maintain documentation related to purchase orders, GRNs, invoices, and payment records.

8. Financial Analysis & Decision Support

  • Provide financial insights, models, and projections to assist in strategic decision-making.
  • Conduct cost-benefit analyses, ROI calculations, and feasibility studies for projects and investments.
  • Prepare digital reports and dashboards for senior management.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  1. ATTAINMENTS

Qualification

At least 16 years of education in Commerce or Business Administration in Finance, or related fields from a recognized university. Foreign qualification will be considered an added advantage.

Specialized TrainingFinancial Planning & Analysis, e-Filing and Tax Tools, ERP System Training, Internal Audit & Risk Management or any other skills considered relevant for the position.

Active affiliations – membership of recognised Industry or Professional Organisations.

EXPERIENCE

At least 05 years of post-qualification relevant experience.  03 years of experience in a similar role and in similar sector will be considered an advantage. Relevant International work experience will be considered an added advantage.

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles
  • Awareness of updates in tax laws, statutory reporting, and corporate regulations
  • Ability to assist in budget preparation, cost estimation, and resource allocation. Competence in variance analysis and financial forecasting.
  • Strong skills in financial modelling, ratio analysis, and performance reporting.
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, Tally, QuickBooks).
  • Experience with internal and external audits, documentation, and audit queries.
  • High level of numerical accuracy in financial entries and reports. Strong ability to spot errors, inconsistencies, and ensure data integrity.
  • Capability to handle multiple deadlines during audits, closings, and reporting periods.
  • Analytical mindset to identify discrepancies, propose corrective actions, and optimize processes.
  • Strong sense of confidentiality, accountability, and professional ethics. Committed to compliance, transparency, and accuracy in financial dealings.
  • Ability to generate MIS reports, dashboards, and financial insights.
  • CIRCUMSTANCES
  • Fluency in English and Urdu. Pashto will be considered an added advantage.
  • Good health, allow to work long and irregular hours (when required).
  • Age up to 42 years on the closing date of applications.
