The AM Electrical will be responsible for daily management, operations of Electrical and mechanical equipment and invoice processing. The work comprises of 90% in office and 10% in field. AM Electrical will be responsible to lead the activities related to Electrical equipment, contract management, ensure compliance of contractual requirements of the contract, provide technical advice related to electrical system and prepare scope of work including KPIs and conduct relevant procurements.

This role is also responsible for assisting the Manager in preparation of; maintenance and operation plans, procurement strategy, budget preparation, working papers and audit responses, collection and verification of electricity bills in ZU System and any other activity required by the management.

Key Responsibilities

The Assistant Manager Electrical will be responsible for operation and maintenance activities of electrical and mechanical equipment in ZU System. The prime responsibilities are:

  • Assist Manager in preparation of operations and maintenance plan strategy;
  • Assist Manager in budget preparation related to contract and any other maintenance activities of electrical and mechanical equipment including forecasting cost;
  • Lead and execute Operation and Maintenance contract assigned by the Company;
  • Verify and process payments in accordance with the contract, SOP, and in accordance with applicable law;
  • Prepare and execute periodic campaigns to check the functionality of Electrical and Mechanical equipment, services etc.
  • Ensure contract compliance and respond to audit /finance queries and ensure compliance of applicable laws;
  • Participate in procurement activities, handing & taking-overs and planning of facility management works /services and cost estimation of future maintenance and operation activity;
  • Prepare and execute periodic campaigns to check the functionality of Electrical and Mechanical equipment, services etc.
  • Reporting on the adequacy of the maintenance procedure to ensure that it continues to meet the current and future demands of the ZU System;
  • Ensuring smooth operation and management of electrical and mechanical systems in ZU System;
  • Collection, processing and verification of electricity bills of ZU System and prepare reports;
  • Coordination with PESCO related to power supply, billing, breakdowns etc;
  • Record keeping of the data relevant to the contract;
  • Ensuring the safety and security of electrical and mechanical equipment, public and assets;
  • Solving problems that are faced by the maintenance team so that the operational activities of the electrical and mechanical equipment can be carried out effectively and in timely manner;
  • Management and training of lower staff to ensure tasks given to them are completed efficiently and in timely manner;
  • Maintaining regular liaison/contact with nominated key stakeholders including contracted service suppliers and with others as may be required on an intermittent or emergency basis;
  • To ensure effective communications with the Manager BRT control centre and control centre staff at all times;
  • Supervise feasibility study, design, procurement and installation of solar projects and verify /process correspondence payments;
  • Providing operational reports to the manager as per company’s operating procedures manual or as requested by the manager;
  • Preparation of contingency plan in case of breakdown of electrical and mechanical equipment; and
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by TransPeshawar.
Position Requirements
  1. ATTAINMENTS

Qualification

Required

Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant field from a recognized university.

Preferable

Master’s Degree in any or a combination of disciplines of Electrical Engineering, Management or related fields from a recognized university will be considered an added advantage.

Active affiliations – membership of recognised Industry or Professional Organisations,

 

EXPERIENCE

At least 5 years of post-qualification relevant experience, including minimum of 2 years of experience on a similar role in a similar sector will be considered an advantage. Relevant international work experience will be considered an added advantage.

  • Above average skills in consultative team communications and operational management,
  • Good in responding to emergency response and mitigation measures,
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver reports and agreed actions in a timely manner and within the budget,
  • Demonstrated ability to take responsibility in accordance with sound management principles and skills,
  • Credible, and comfortable in dealing with management, line agencies, general public and other stakeholders; and
  • Empathic communicator, able to work with a team and see things from the other person’s point of view.
  1. CIRCUMSTANCES
  • Maximum Age 35 years.
  • Fluency in English, Urdu and Pashto would be an added advantage.
  • Good health, allow to work long and irregular hours (when required).
