OVERALL ROLE:
 
Reporting to the Assistant Manager Mechanical; Mechanical Executive has to oversee, coordinate, and ensure the smooth functioning, inspection, and maintenance of mechanical systems across BRT infrastructure. This includes HVAC systems, escalators, elevators, generators, plumbing, firefighting systems, and depot equipment. The role ensures all assets operate reliably, safely, and in compliance with regulatory and manufacturer standards.
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
 
The position of Bus Compliance Supervisor has following primary responsibilities:
 
1. Supervision of Mechanical Systems:
Monitor the installation, operation, and maintenance of mechanical systems including:
Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC)
Fire suppression and firefighting equipment
Plumbing and sanitary systems
GenSets, Escalators, elevators, and platform mechanisms
Backup power generators and compressors
Supervise a team of mechanical technicians or third-party service contractors.
 
2. Preventive & Corrective Maintenance:
Prepare and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all mechanical assets.
Conduct routine inspections to identify wear, faults, or inefficiencies.
Diagnose mechanical problems and ensure timely repairs to prevent service disruptions.
Ensure timely resolution of breakdowns in accordance with service-level agreements (SLAs).
 
3. Asset Management & Record-Keeping:
Maintain updated asset registers and maintenance logs.
Track mechanical parts inventory, spares, and tools.
Review vendor/contractor performance reports related to mechanical services.
 
4. Safety & Compliance:
Ensure compliance with national safety codes, manufacturer guidelines, and operational standards.
Enforce safety practices for all mechanical work (e.g., lockout/tagout, confined space procedures).
Coordinate periodic safety audits and resolve non-compliance issues.
 
5. Vendor & Contractor Oversight:
Supervise third-party maintenance contractors, review service reports, and verify work quality.
Validate contractor invoices against completed work and approved rates.
Participate in the tendering process for mechanical maintenance services.
 
6. Reporting & Documentation:
Prepare daily/weekly maintenance and incident reports.
Submit mechanical asset performance data to inform lifecycle planning and budgeting.
Support root-cause analysis for repeated faults or critical mechanical failures.
 
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
 
ATTAINMENTS
QUALIFICATION
At least B.Sc degree in Mechanical, or related fields from a recognized university.
Specialized Training – HVAC, fire systems, or MEP systems or any other skills considered relevant for the position.
Active affiliations – membership of recognised Industry or Professional Organisations.
 
EXPERIENCE
At least 02 years of post-qualification relevant experience. Experience in mechanical systems maintenance, preferably in transport, metro, or urban infrastructure will be considered an advantage.
 
CORE COMPETENCIES
Strong technical knowledge of building mechanical systems (HVAC, fire, plumbing).
Ability to read mechanical drawings and interpret technical manuals.
Problem-solving and diagnostics for field-level issues.
Team leadership and contractor management.
Familiarity with maintenance management systems (CMMS) and reporting tools.
Understanding of safety procedures and compliance standards.
 
CIRCUMSTANCES
Fluency in English and Urdu. Pashto will be considered an added advantage.
Good health, allow to work long and irregular hours (when required).
Age up to 37 years on the closing date of applications.
