OVERALL ROLE:

Reporting to the Manager Security & Safety; Executive Security & Safety has to ensure the safety and security of BRT passengers, staff, assets, and infrastructure by implementing safety protocols, monitoring operations, coordinating with law enforcement and emergency services, and managing incidents effectively.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The position of Security & Safety Executive has following primary responsibilities:

1. Safety Management:

  • Develop and implement safety protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for terminals, buses, and stations.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate hazards.
  • Monitor safety equipment (fire alarms, extinguishers, CCTV, etc.) to ensure functionality.
  • Coordinate drills and training programs for emergency preparedness (e.g., fire, evacuation, accident response).
  • Investigate safety incidents and accidents, prepare reports, and recommend corrective actions.

2. Security Oversight:

  • Supervise security personnel at stations, depots, and along BRT corridors.
  • Coordinate with contracted security agencies to ensure adequate coverage and performance.
  • Monitor surveillance systems (CCTV, access control) to detect suspicious activities or security breaches.
  • Oversee the enforcement of passenger rules (e.g., fare evasion, vandalism, harassment).
  • Liaise with local police and law enforcement to address security threats and public safety issues.

3. Incident & Crisis Management:

  • Serve as the on-ground response coordinator during emergencies, accidents, and security incidents.
  • Maintain incident logs and reports for internal review and legal/regulatory compliance.
  • Act as a first point of contact for emergency responders and regulatory bodies.
  • Participate in emergency response planning and simulations.

4. Compliance & Reporting:

  • Ensure compliance with local, national, and international transportation safety regulations.
  • Prepare and present daily, weekly, and monthly safety and security reports.
  • Recommend safety improvements and best practices to management.

5. Stakeholder & Public Engagement:

  • Collaborate with operations, maintenance, HR, and customer service departments to maintain safety culture.
  • Educate passengers on safety procedures, boarding/disembarking protocols, and emergency contacts.
  • Handle public grievances related to safety and security.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  1. ATTAINMENTS

Qualification

At least 16 years of education in Commerce, Economics, or Business Administration in Finance, or related fields from a recognized university. Foreign qualification will be considered an added advantage.

Specialized TrainingHealth & Safety, Occupational Health, NEBOSH, IOSH, Security related training, First Aid, Fire Safety or any other skills considered relevant for the position.

Active affiliations – membership of recognised Industry or Professional Organisations.

EXPERIENCE

At least 02 years of post-qualification relevant experience.  Experience in a Security, Health Safety and Fire Safety will be considered an advantage.

  • CIRCUMSTANCES
  • Fluency in English and Urdu. Pashto will be considered an added advantage.
  • Good health, allow to work long and irregular hours (when required).
  • Age up to 37 years on the closing date of applications.
